How do I find a Dungeon Master?
There are multiple ways to find someone to DM your campaign. People with experience might be willing to help a group out, and if someone like that is unavailable you can always try yourself. Make sure the DM and players agree with the tone of the game before playing.

I personally started playing with the help of a preexisting class, eventually splitting off with my friends to do it on our own.
How do I start DMing?
The best way to become a Dungeon Master is to start by playing the game. It lets you get a good grasp of the fundamentals, learn what parts make the game engaging for your fellow players, and learn what responsibilities the DM has to keep the game moving.

Once you're ready to start DMing, try going with a pre-made adventure. These are ready-made campaigns with a setting, quests, characters, monsters, and dungeons for your characters to explore. These can be found in Other Resources or by purchasing them at areas like game stores that already stock DnD content. All you have to do is describe the adventure and create dialogue. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the rules as well as the mechanics of the game, and don't be afraid to improvise.

Try to provide openings for your players to interact with the world in unique ways. DnD is a game about cooperation between both the players and the DM, so try not to shut an idea down without hearing it out first. However. that doesn't mean you have to go along with everything they say. Finding a balance between the limits of what's possible is one of the key traits of a DM, so try to hone this skill.
Once you’ve gotten confident in your own abilities then you can try branching out to more original campaigns often referred to as “homebrew”. This could be anything from original characters to settings or monsters. It's a careful balancing act, however, and best to stick to more ordinary things until you have some experience under your belt.

DMing is a heavy commitment, so decide with your group if you're going to take turns between campaigns. There's nothing wrong with letting someone else take the wheel for a bit if you're feeling tired.
